This Privacy Policy explains how Character Compass ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our hiring platform. It is written in plain language and is intended to be Australia-friendly while remaining general enough for our Canada pilot. This page is not legal advice.

Information we collect

From candidates

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Resume / CV and parsed content
• Profile photo (if provided)
• Application answers and questionnaire responses
• Interview and trial-shift bookings and attendance
• Communication history with employers and our team

From employers

• Business name
• Admin user names and contact details
• Job postings and role descriptions
• Hiring activity, notes, shortlists and decisions recorded in the platform

How we use information

• To manage and process job applications
• To communicate with candidates about their application
• To schedule interviews and trial shifts
• To help employers make hiring decisions
• To improve the platform and our service quality

AI-assisted features

We use AI to help with resume parsing, recruiter-only summaries and general hiring workflow assistance. AI outputs are advisory only.

• Final hiring decisions are made by employers, not by Character Compass.
• Internal scores, recruiter notes and other employer-only signals are never shown to candidates in the candidate portal.

Data storage and security

Information is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers. We use industry- standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Data sharing

• Candidate information is shared with the employer/business you applied to.
• We use trusted service providers (e.g. email delivery, hosting) under contract.
• We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
• We may disclose information where required by law.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Where local privacy laws apply (for example the Australian Privacy Principles or applicable Canadian provincial privacy laws), we will honour your rights under those laws.
